At the 21th June the Swedes celebrate the summer solstice. It's a joyful holiday – summer has come at last after the long cold winter, there are flowers everywhere and the nights are bright.
The people n Bredbyn, a small village in northern Sweden, gather on the large square in front of their local museum. They weave flowery wreaths and decorate the large midsummer pole with them. The music plays, children and adults, young and old people are dancing around the pole. They eat and drink in the open and enjoy the day.
