One of the interesting things about doing a bird survey is becoming aware of the rhythms in other creatures lives. Sandhill Cranes are hard working birds. At sunrise, they are flying out to their feeding grounds, calling as they fly. They spend all day out and about feeding or resting until sunset when they fly back, again, calling as they fly. It is a distinctive sight and sound.
