Arctic tern (Sterna paradisaea) flying over sunlit waterOn our travels through northern Sweden we came to a calm lake surrounded by forests. There's a beach with a jetty and a red water slide for the village children and the afternoon sun glitters on the water on this fine summer day – it's a magic atmosphere.

Cape Cross Fur Seals Slaughtered For Their Fur!

Fur seal cub drinking it's lunch. Thought I bring a close up for the attention to the Seal slaughter in Namibia/Africa. Every year around 85000 seals are being slaughtered in Namibia. All hidden from tourists. The killing starts before 6am and ends just before the first tourists arrive. Bulldozers clean up the mess! Not many people are aware of this happening in Namibia!
Did you know? Mr Hatem Yavuz, living in Sydney Australia is responsible for it!! He buys one fur of a seal for about 3$ of the Namibian government. After all treatments he sells the jackets...etc for about 30000$ a piece!

Trio of coconut trees at Spring Bay , Virgin Gorda

It was an overcast morning that I set out for a walk to the beach. I knew that I wouldn't get the vibrant blues and greens of the sea and sky that I was accustomed to, but it was such a relaxing morning. I came upon these three palm trees and they caught my attention immediately. I loved the way they stood in the entrance to the little bay. Despite the overcast sky, I am very happy with the image and I feel I captured that serenity that I felt that morning.
Image was taken at Spring Bay Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands.

Road to Rest

Beautiful roads on beautiful islands always attract me. I love the emptiness and the promise of beauty at the end of the path. This image was taken on the island of Anegada in the British Virgin Islands. It only took me 35 years to get there, even though I have lived on the neighbouring island of Tortola all my life. Better late than never 😀
