The Who What and When of Relax, Reflect, and Rejuvenate--the Story of Solid Rock Photography

IMG_9898Ever since Dustin was a little lad, he had a camera in his hand. With parents who took over 6000 slides of daily life and of course the family vacations, it was natural for Dustin to have eye for photography. Since 2005, he has been in business as Solid Rock Photography.

Over the years, Dustin has gained knowledge and expertise with in the following genres of the photography field. Landscapes, Nature, Travel, Adventure, Photojournalism, Fine Art and Portraiture. He was inducted into in the Cambridge Who’s Who of Executives, Professional and Entrepreneurs in 2008 for his professional development and business philosophy built around the theme to his work of “Relax, Reflect and Rejuvenate.” Life gets too busy and one must take time to evaluate it to see if it is going in the right direction. Stop, pause, and redirect so that one can have the life that each individual was called to live.

Dustin wrote a book on that topic in 2008 and it was widely distributed. The book was an autobiography that told the story of 33 years of life as well as shared 101 of the finest works of Dustin’s career. Yes it was an auto biography but it also contained the message of not settling for the ordinary existence. Rather, it promoted the idea of living the life that John 10:10 says Jesus came to give us! Jesus was speaking and He said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”

Another accomplishment of Dustin’s is that he took on the social media world for his own photography business in 2008 as well. Since then, he has built a following on Facebook, Twitter, Word Press and other social media outlets. In 2010 entered into an agreement with him to write about nature topics as Dustin became a Minnesota Master Naturalist through a partnership with the University of Minnesota where he got his Master in Outdoor Education in 2006. In 2011, Dustin took on another assignment to write about Fine Art as an Austin Area Art Examiner. In support of these endeavors, Dustin also is taking online classes in Social Media Marketing, Shoestring Marketing by Jessica Swanson, so that he can further promote the Austin Area Art Center and the greater arts community in Austin.

Dustin’s areas of expertise beyond that included business networking, business and marketing plan development, organizational leadership, educator and mentor, and computer and website support. That stated, Dustin looks forward to helping propel the Austin Area Art Center into the realm of being a long term sustainable nonprofit art organization serving the greater Austin community and beyond.
