I found these beautiful birds at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refugee in Delaware this summer. I initially thought they were indigo buntings but they are much bigger. They are very skittish and will not let you approach. The male is a vivid blue with an elegant rusty wing bar. This is a first sighting for me. I did not know these colorful birds existed!
