The Japanese Magnolia is one of my favorite early spring flowering trees. The trees are covered with huge flowers that can range in color from white to pink to purple. However, as all of the early spring bloomers, the tree is gambling. The day after I took these photos, a late frost killed the flowers.

Gorgeous photos Trudie! I too love Japanese Magnolia and the beautiful cherry trees that bloom early each year. Very nice bokeh on the bottom pic. Nice realistic color saturation as well. What camera and lens did you use?

I am glad that you enjoyed the photos. I used a Konica Minolta Maxxum7D with an AF24-105 lens.
